Cromar AlphaChem PVA Bond is a versatile product tailored for various applications within the building industry, boasting the following key features:
Enhanced Adhesion: Offers greatly improved adhesion to a diverse range of substrates, including dense concrete, glass, steel, and tiles, ensuring reliable bonding performance.
Thinner Applications: Mixes can be applied in much thinner sections, enhancing resistance to salt permeation and reducing surface dusting of concrete.
Improved Flexibility: Enhances the flexibility of sand cement products, allowing for greater adaptability in construction projects.
Enhanced Performance: Reduces the water-to-cement ratio required for equivalent workability, improves frost resistance, and minimizes surface porosity of mortar and plaster, ensuring durability and longevity in building applications.
PVA Bond meets the bond strength requirements outlined in BS5270, making it suitable for internal use with gypsum building plasters. With its medium viscosity and externally plasticized, vinyl acetate homopolymer composition, PVA Bond serves as a reliable multi-purpose bonding agent, additive for concrete and plasters, and general-purpose adhesive, catering to various needs in the construction industry.
Storage: For the safe storage of PVA Bond, it’s important to tightly seal containers to prevent water evaporation and the formation of surface skin. Store the emulsion at a temperature above freezing. Ideally, maintain a temperature between 5°C and 25°C for no more than six months. Exposure to higher temperatures can compromise quality and lead to the formation of crusts and skins, particularly if containers are not tightly closed or are exposed to prolonged direct sunlight.

Cromar AlphaChem PVA Bond is tailored for the building industry, serving as a versatile bonding agent, an additive for concrete and plasters, and a general-purpose adhesive.
APPLICATION
Ensure all surfaces are in good condition, clean, dry, and free from dust. Here are the recommended uses:
Adhesive: Apply directly to bond wood and similar absorbent materials. Press firmly together and, if possible, clamp the surfaces for 24 hours.
Plaster Bonding Agent: Prime the surface using a mixture of 1 part PVA and 2 parts water. Allow it to dry, then apply a bonding coat made of 1 part PVA and 2 parts water. Apply plaster while the bonding coat is still tacky.
Cement Admixture: Mix 1 liter of PVA Bond per 5 kg of cement or 5 liters per 25 kg bag.
Sealer/Primer: Dilute 1 part PVA with up to 3 parts water (depending on surface porosity) to seal wall surfaces before tiling or wallpapering. Apply with a brush until the surface is satisfactorily sealed.
LIMITATIONS
- Not intended for external applications; consider using Alpha Chem SBR Bond instead.
