Cromar AlphaChem Building Trades Silicone is ideal for a variety of sealing applications.
- Perimeter sealing around wood, aluminum, and PVCu door and window frames.
- Sealing for weather and joints in walls, windows, and doors.
- Suitable for building and construction joints, including different materials and expansion joints.
- Effective sealing for marble, stone, and other porous substrates.
APPLICATION
- Prior to application, ensure surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dust, grease, or other contaminants. Remove old silicone with a silicone remover. While most non-porous substrates require no primer, porous substrates should be treated with one. Always conduct adhesion tests before use.
- Fill any gaps or voids with Alpha Chem Expanding Foam or AlphaChem Joint Backer Rod.
- Cut the thread and nozzle to the desired size.
- Apply the sealant using a sealant gun and smooth down with a spatula dampened with soapy water within 5 minutes of application for a professional finish.
- Clean excess uncured sealant with solvent. Mechanically remove cured sealant.
- Dispose of all packaging responsibly.
LIMITATIONS
- Avoid use in completely confined spaces lacking atmospheric moisture necessary for curing.
- Not paintable.
- Do not use with PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, bitumen asphalt, neoprene, and certain organic elastomers.
- Inappropriate for food contact applications.
- Unsuitable for swimming pool joints.
- Discoloration may result in dark environments or upon contact with chemicals.
- Users are responsible for ensuring suitability for their specific application. Safety Data Sheet is available upon request.
