Bond It Seal It Cracks & Edging Sealer is applicable before applying SEAL IT LIQUID MEMBRANE to repair cracks, edges, details, and other openings in the substrate, ensuring a solid foundation. Compatible with most conventional roofing materials, it exhibits excellent adhesion. Alternatively, it can also be utilized after applying SEAL IT LIQUID MEMBRANE to secure edgings and seals, forming a self-terminating flashing or providing additional protection around roof elements such as chimneys and air vents.
APPLICATION
Precisely cut the top of the cartridge, ensuring not to damage the threaded area. Attach the supplied nozzle, cutting it at an angle of approximately 45°. Utilize a standard sealant gun for application, creating a continuous bead along the designated area. Smooth the applied sealant by tooling with a soapy solution, and after it cures, rinse with clean water before applying SEAL IT LIQUID MEMBRANE. Remove any excess material and promptly clean tools with white spirit. Following use, replace the plastic cap. SEAL IT LIQUID MEMBRANE can be applied over the filled gaps and cracks approximately 8 hours after applying the sealant/filler, or once the filler has skinned sufficiently to prevent damage during the coating application.
LIMITATIONS
It is crucial to apply the sealer and SEAL IT LIQUID MEMBRANE within a maximum interval of 5 days from each other. Adhesion between the two products may be compromised if applied after this 5-day period. Proper and thorough priming of bitumen surfaces and roof felts is essential using SEAL IT PRIMER before application, as failure to do so could lead to product failure.
Avoid using it with expansion joints or for installations where joints are consistently immersed in water. Note that it is not suitable for use on Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics such as PE, PP, and PTFE.
