Bond It Flashing Tape is a high-quality self-adhesive tape specifically designed for sealing and repairing various types of roof flashing, including lead, metal, and bitumen. This versatile tape offers excellent adhesion, durability, and weather resistance, making it an ideal choice for professional roofers and DIY enthusiasts. With its easy application and reliable performance, Bond It Flashing Tape provides a quick and effective solution for ensuring a watertight seal on roofing projects.

Key Points:

– Superior Waterproofing: Bond It Flashing Tape provides a reliable and long-lasting waterproof seal for roof flashing. Its self-adhesive properties create a strong bond with the surface, preventing any water or moisture from penetrating the joints or gaps in the flashing. This ensures enhanced protection against leaks and water damage.

– Easy Application: The self-adhesive nature of Bond It Flashing Tape makes it incredibly easy to apply. Simply peel off the backing paper and apply the tape directly onto the clean and dry surface. The flexible nature of the tape allows for easy maneuverability and conformability to different flashing shapes and contours, ensuring a secure and tight seal.

– Excellent Adhesion: This flashing tape exhibits excellent adhesion to a wide range of roofing materials, including metal, lead, bitumen, and other common flashing substrates. It forms a strong bond with the surface, providing a durable and long-lasting seal that withstands the rigors of weather and environmental conditions.

– Weather Resistant: Bond It Flashing Tape is specially formulated to withstand extreme weather conditions, including UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and heavy rain. It remains flexible and resistant to cracking or peeling, ensuring reliable performance and longevity.

– Versatile Application: This flashing tape can be used for various roofing applications, including repairing damaged flashing, sealing gaps and joints, and creating new flashings. It is suitable for both flat and sloping roofs, offering versatility in its use. The tape can also be used in conjunction with other roofing materials for comprehensive waterproofing solutions.

Note: Before applying Bond It Flashing Tape, ensure that the flashing surface is clean, dry, and free from any loose debris or contaminants. It is recommended to use a primer on porous or dusty surfaces for enhanced adhesion. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper application techniques and safety precautions. Store the product in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use appropriate protective equipment during application and avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Bond It Flashing Tape is specifically crafted for use as a flashing solution on both flat and pitched roofs, as well as on parapets and chimney stacks. Its versatility extends to sealing around RSJ’s, flues, concrete columns, rooflights, guttering, and extractor vents. The robust facing of the tape provides puncture resistance, while the bitumen component ensures flexibility and adhesion without the issue of slumping.

Applications include replacement and repair of flashings, sealing and repair of downpipes, sealing of glazing and roof lights, parapet sealing, waterproofing of coping and roof ridges, and general roof repairs.

For new construction projects, Bond It FLASHING TAPE finds utility in various applications such as flashing on flat or pitched roofs made of asbestos, concrete, or aluminum. It is suitable for parapet flashing, sealing upstands through roofs, and sealing around RSJ’s, flues, concrete columns, rooflights, and extractor vents. The tape is also effective in sealing joints of pipes of different materials before casting in concrete, serving as a vertical DPC for sealing cavity walls at door and window openings, capping corrugated roof ridges before fixing ridge flashing, and providing protection to stool stanchions in contact with facing bricks. Additionally, it can be used as a damp-proof membrane for columns, offering protection to pipes and facilitating general insulation work.

In repair scenarios, Bond It FLASHING TAPE excels in tasks such as repairing damaged lead flashing and lead roofing, sealing mortar faults, addressing damaged slates and tiles in challenging locations, downpipe and joint repairs, gutter and valley linings, and joint repairs on asbestos, concrete, or metal. It is also effective in gutter closures to prevent storm overflow into buildings, eaves closure, drip tray into gutters, glazing bars, rooflights, and northlights. Furthermore, it serves well in cappings to asbestos roofing and emergency repairs to windows, as well as sealing leaks in various vehicles such as cars, trucks, and vans.

APPLICATION

  1. Cut the FLASHING TAPE to the necessary length, peel off the release paper, and firmly apply the adhesive bitumen onto the surface prepared beforehand.
  2. Ensure complete contact by using a cloth to smooth out the tape, being careful to eliminate any trapped air bubbles.
  3. Roll down the edges with a wallpaper roller or trowel to create a secure edge seal. Be cautious to prevent any damage to the surface of the FLASHING TAPE.
  4. When joining sections of FLASHING TAPE, always overlap them by at least 25mm (one inch) and roll them down thoroughly.

Note: In cold weather, adhesion can be enhanced by storing the roll in a warm room for 12 hours or more before use, or gently warming the backing strip during application.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES APPLY IN CONDITIONS BELOW 5°C. This tape is not suitable for use on polycarbonate or acrylic glazing, such as conservatory roofs.
