Bond It Chipping Solution is a bitumen solution applied at cold temperatures, designed for bonding mineral aggregate to mastic asphalt or built-up felt roofing. This ready-to-use solution is well-suited for securely bonding chippings to flat or low-pitched roofs (with gradients up to 10°C).
PREPERATION
Ensure all surfaces are structurally sound, clean, dry, and devoid of surface contaminants such as grease, rust, and dirt. If needed, eliminate any organic growth, such as lichen, using a fungicidal wash like Bond It MOULD STOP.
Address any blisters in existing felt by splitting, rebonding, and sealing them. For cracks or splits, use TROWEL MASTIC to make the necessary repairs.
APPLICATION
Use a brush or squeegee to apply, and promptly scatter chippings. If feasible, lightly roll the chippings and brush off any excess after the adhesive has set, typically within 1-4 days depending on the weather. CHIPPING SOLUTION exhibits immediate resistance to rainfall. Suitable chippings for use include flint, gravel, limestone, granite, and white calcined spar.
