Bond It Aluminium Solar Reflective Paint serves as a reflective coating, offering protection against solar degradation and heat absorption. This product is designed for application over bituminous coatings, aged asphalt, and primed steel surfaces. However, it is not recommended for direct application onto expanded polystyrene.
APPLICATION
Thoroughly stir the product before use; do not thin. Apply immediately and intermittently stir during use. Use a brush or mohair roller, applying the lightest pressure with soft bristle brushes when brushing. While the product appears bronze in the tin, it will turn silver as it dries.
Over recently applied bituminous surfaces, observe the following minimum drying periods after the final coat before applying ALUMINIUM SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT:
- Hot applied coatings: 24 hours.
- Solvent-based coatings: 10 days.
- Water-based coatings: 14 days.
Apply two coats, with the second coat applied as soon as the first coat is dry. For bituminous surfaces, apply the thinnest coat necessary to cover the black color of the bitumen coating for the first coat. The second coat should also be thin, avoiding the formation of pools.
Avoid application in conditions of expected rain, frost, or overnight dew before the coating is fully dry, as failure to observe these conditions may result in bronzing of the surface.
When applying to large areas on bright days, it is advisable to wear polarized sunglasses to reduce glare.
