Cromar AlphaChem Hand Held Expanding Foam serves various purposes, including filling large, irregular, or challenging gaps, expanding to fill the entire cavity. It’s ideal for fixing and insulating window and door frames, securing boards in place, and insulating areas between brickwork and cladding, around ductwork, and through cavities containing pipes and cables. Additionally, it functions as a backing material for low-expanding joints, providing versatile solutions for construction and home improvement projects.
APPLICATION
- Prioritize cleanliness by ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from any dust, grease, or contaminants.
- Maintain the can at an optimal temperature of 20°C, while the application temperature should range between +5°C and +30°C.
- Before use, shake the can vigorously to ensure proper mixing of the contents.
- Improve adhesion and reduce cure time by moistening both the surfaces and the foam.
- Attach the straw adapter onto the valve, invert the can, and activate the foam by pressing the valve.
- Maintain the can upside down throughout the application process for optimal performance.
- When filling holes, only fill them halfway with foam, as the post-expansion will complete the filling process.
- Secure door and window frames in place using wedges until the foam fully cures, typically within 24 hours.
- Fresh foam residue can be cleaned using Alpha Chem Foam Cleaner, while cured foam requires mechanical cleaning.
- Proper disposal of all packaging materials is the user’s responsibility, ensuring compliance with waste disposal regulations.
LIMITATIONS
- Store and transport the product in a vertical position to maintain its integrity.
- Avoid storing the product in temperatures exceeding +25°C or falling below +5°C, as this may compromise its shelf life.
- Allow the product to acclimate to room temperature for at least 12 hours before application to ensure optimal performance.
- Note that cured foam may undergo discoloration if exposed to ultraviolet light, suggesting the importance of protecting it from sunlight.
- For enhanced durability in outdoor applications, consider painting or coating the cured foam.
- Keep in mind that lower temperatures can affect both the yield and curing time of the product.
- It is the user’s responsibility to verify the product’s suitability for their intended use before application.
