Bond It Rain Mate is a sealant that maintains permanent flexibility, offering water repellency and UV resistance while being paintable and resistant to cracking or slumping. This versatile product is suitable for application on brick, concrete, stone, all metals, painted or bare wood, glass, vinyl, and most plastics. Additionally, it is compatible with bitumen and asphalt, making it ideal for roof repairs in damp conditions. Its applications include sealing doors, windows, roofs, cladding, and vehicle bodies.
APPLICATION
Primers are typically unnecessary. It is advisable to eliminate rust or other imperfections to achieve a solid surface. In damp conditions, remove standing water, residual dirt, and thoroughly dry the surface using cloths or paper towels before applying the sealant. Apply the sealant in the usual manner, ensuring an ample amount to accommodate any potential joint movement (equivalent to 25% of the sealant width). Allow 24 hours before initiating any painting.
While all RAIN-MATE colors can adhere to bitumen and asphalt, we recommend using black for this purpose to avoid unsightly discoloration that may occur with white and clear options.
Tools can be promptly cleaned using Bond It UPVC SOLVENT CLEANER or WHITE SPIRIT.
LIMITATIONS
Avoid using this product on expanded polystyrene, polycarbonate, plastic roof lights, or other solvent-sensitive surfaces. Refrain from applying it at temperatures exceeding 60°C or on surfaces that reach temperatures exceeding 80°C during use.
