Cromar Protect 1F is a Non Vapour Permeable (non-breather) membrane tailored for application beneath slating and tiled pitched roofs. This is specifically designed to be bat friendly and recommended for roofs where bats are known to roost. It serves as a high-performance underlay necessitating ventilation according to BS5250 2021 standards. Installation aligns with BS5534 2018 guidelines. This membrane effectively blocks the intrusion of dust, rain, and snow into the roof void, serving as a secondary barrier. When correctly installed, it offers temporary protection for up to 3 months until the primary barrier (slates/tiles) is in place. The lightweight material is easy to handle, and its 45m x 1m roll size facilitates convenient handling.

Protect 1F U/Slating is a top-quality underlay designed for pitched roofs, requiring proper ventilation as per BS5250 2021 standards.
APPLICATION
- Install Protect 1f underslating membrane following the guidelines outlined in BS5534:2018.
- Installation is feasible under typical roofing conditions.
- Begin laying the product horizontally across the rafters, starting from the eaves.
- Lay Protect 1f up the roof slope, ensuring a maximum drape between rafters of 15mm.
- If not counter battened, avoid pulling Protect 1F taut.
- Adhere to the minimum laps specified in BS5534:2018.
