Bond It Patination Oil provides an even coloration to lead as its natural patina develops, simultaneously preventing the formation of unsightly white stains.
APPLICATION
Apply the oil at the earliest opportunity, immediately after each stage of the leadwork, and certainly no later than the conclusion of the working day. The lead must be completely dry before the application of Patination Oil.
Application should take place at temperatures ranging between 5°C and 35°C. Follow these steps:
- Shake the can vigorously for at least 2 minutes before use and intermittently during application.
- Use a soft absorbent cloth to apply the oil.
- Work horizontally from top to bottom, ensuring a wet lower edge without using a circular scrubbing action.
- Complete the application before any anticipated rainfall.
Warning: Cloths contaminated with Patination Oil should be safely burned after use, as spontaneous combustion may occur under certain conditions due to the oil’s oxidation.
LIMITATIONS
Avoid any contact between Patination Oil and bituminous surfaces or polycarbonate sheets.
