Bond It Felt Adhesive is a high-quality adhesive specially formulated for bonding roofing felt to a variety of substrates. This versatile adhesive offers excellent adhesion and durability, ensuring a secure and long-lasting bond. Whether you’re repairing or installing roofing felt, it provides the reliability and performance you need for a successful roofing project.
Key Points:
– Strong and Secure Bond: Bond It Felt Adhesive creates a strong and secure bond between roofing felt and various substrates, including wood, metal, concrete, and bituminous surfaces. It forms a robust adhesive layer that withstands weathering, temperature fluctuations, and the stresses associated with roofing applications.
– Weatherproof and Waterproof: This adhesive provides excellent weatherproofing and waterproofing properties, enhancing the durability and longevity of the roofing felt. It forms a protective barrier against rain, snow, and other environmental factors, ensuring reliable performance in all weather conditions.
– Easy Application: The Felt Adhesive is easy to apply, thanks to its user-friendly consistency. It can be applied using a brush or a suitable applicator, allowing for precise and even coverage. The adhesive spreads smoothly, facilitating efficient application and saving time during the roofing project.
– Quick Drying: This felt adhesive has a fast-drying formula, which accelerates the installation process and reduces the waiting time. Once applied, it dries quickly to form a secure bond, allowing for faster project completion and minimizing the risk of damage due to weather exposure.
– Versatile Use: Bond It Felt Adhesive is suitable for various roofing applications, including repairing damaged felt, bonding new felt to roofs, and securing overlaps and joints. It is compatible with different types of roofing felts, making it a versatile choice for both professional roofers and DIY enthusiasts.
Note: Prior to applying the Felt Adhesive, ensure that the surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, and loose particles. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper application and safety precautions. Store the adhesive in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Bond It Felt Adhesive is an adhesive applied without heat, designed for bonding bituminous roofing felts to surfaces such as asphalt, felt, metal, wood, and concrete. Additionally, it is suitable for affixing mineral chippings to bituminous surfaces. It is important to note that this adhesive should not be used over products based on tar.
APPLICATION
Apply the Felt Adhesive to the roof surface using a mop, squeegee, or stiff brush, being careful not to exceed the recommended coverage rates. Allow the adhesive to achieve a tacky consistency (typically 15 minutes to 1 hour) before positioning the roofing felt. Maintain minimum laps of 75mm for side laps and 150mm for end laps, sealing them with the adhesive. During felt placement, ensure no air is trapped, especially when overlaying a previous layer of felt or another waterproof coating. Use a 15Kg roller or a stiff broom to roll or brush the surface thoroughly, establishing good overall contact between the felt and adhesive, paying extra attention to the laps. Note: Applying felt too soon may extend the drying time of the adhesive, leading to potential oozing. When felting upstands, apply adhesive to both the upstand and the felt.
For timber roofs, follow BS Code of Practice 144: Part 3 guidelines to lay the initial layer of felt, bonding subsequent layers with the adhesive.
In single-layer applications, it can be used as lap adhesive. Ensure complete coverage on the lap area, press firmly when tacky, and secure the lap with galvanized clout head nails.
For gritting purposes, it can serve as a solution. Apply an ample amount of grit and tread well or, preferably, roll for optimal adherence.
