Bond It B3 Fix & Fill Foam is a one-component polyurethane assembly foam formulated with a moisture-curing polyurethane prepolymer. The foam maintains its volume after curing, reducing the risk of joint deformation and separation from the surface.
Applications include:
- Installation of window and door frames, as well as entrance door linings, where a clean and controlled backfill is needed.
- Filling holes securely.
- Insulating penetrations effectively.
- Sealing thermal and acoustic insulation boards.
- Establishing secure seals and connections for joints.
- Minimizing the impact of thermal bridges.
APPLICATION
Please take careful note of the following instructions for the can. It is imperative to wear gloves, eye protection, and avoid skin contact.
For Handheld Application:
- Hold the foam can upright.
- Attach the applicator (straw) to the foam can valve.
- To apply, invert the can and press the applicator trigger.
- Adjust the foam output using the applicator trigger.
For Gun Grade Application:
- Hold the foam can upright.
- Turn the gun to the can by holding the gun handle with one hand and turning the can with the other hand.
- Ensure that the gun is not pointed at others during this process.
- Do not screw the can to the gun with the valve upside down or by turning the gun on the can.
- Exercise caution not to overtighten the adaptor or activate the valve during this procedure.
- Invert the can and commence application, adjusting the foam output using the gun trigger.
Note: The fresh foam will expand by 1½ to 2 times, so be cautious not to overfill joints. Immediately clean fresh foam spills within the tack-free time using Bond It FOAM CLEANER. Removal of cured foam must be done mechanically.
Additionally, please be aware that moisture is essential for an even and rapid curing of the foam. Inadequate moistening or overfilling of joints and cavities may lead to an undesired post-expansion of the foam. Accurate control of foam extrusion can be achieved by varying the pressure on the adaptor or gun trigger. The valve should be pointed down for foam extrusion, although it will work through most angles. Activate the valve lever carefully. Once a can has been started, it should be used within four weeks.
LIMITATIONS
Cured foam is vulnerable to UV light and direct sunlight, necessitating coverage with an appropriate opaque sealant, filler, paint, or similar material. Before applying the foam, ensure that lighter construction elements are securely fixed, as the high post-expansion of the formula may impact them.
