Cromar AlphaChem Flashing Tape adheres to a variety of building materials such as masonry, brick, concrete, wood, slates, metal, concrete roof tiles, glass, plastic, and roofing felt. Flashing Strip serves multiple purposes, including repairing lead flashing, sealing valley gutters, fixing leaks in guttering and drain pipes, safeguarding insulation for pipes and tanks, and conducting repairs on greenhouses and roofing felt joints.
APPLICATION
- Cut the Flashing Strip to the desired length.
- To prevent creasing, peel off approximately 50mm of backing paper.
- Carefully position the sealing strip, holding the backing paper firmly.
- Remove the backing paper steadily as you apply the product.
- Smooth the strip into position using hand pressure.
- Use a seam roller or rounded wood to ensure good contact and expel any air, especially on overlaps and edges.
- Overlap adjacent rolls of Flashing Strip by a minimum of 25mm for a watertight seal.
- Firmly press the seam with a hand roller, paying special attention to the point of overlap.
- In cold weather (5-15°C), warm the surfaces and store the Flashing Strip in a warm place before use to facilitate application.
- Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C.
LIMITATIONS
- Flashing Strip does not tolerate significant joint movement.
- It is not designed to withstand vehicle or foot traffic.
- Avoid using Flashing Strip in areas prone to regular contact with solvents and oils.
- Do not combine Flashing Strip with flexible PVC, vinyl, or silicone sealants.
- If enclosed in a cementitious mix, the product may become brittle.
- Any acidic or alkaline liquid will corrode the product and should be avoided.
